This year our family decided to step away from the day to day chaos and take an extended family trip. We chose to come to Clearwater Beach for two months. This allowed us to really settle in and explore some of the nearby attractions without rushing to get everything done in a short week vacation. It also forced us to temporarily step away from some of our responsibilities, lessons, and the daily schedules. I like to say we pushed the reset button on life, refocusing our intentions and priorities. My husband and I own our own businesses and we homeschool so this allowed us this amazing opportunity that most might not be able to take. While we were there we visited the beach many times but we also ventured out a bit. Some of the fun places we explored were Tampa Aquarium, Tampa Zoo, St. Pete farmer’s market, Salvador Dali museum, parasailing, dolphin expeditions and many local parks. The kids also got to attend a three day camp at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. They would likely say that attending camp as well as attempting to try a variety of the 48 flavors at the local “Ice and Cream” was one of their highlights. My highlight was quiet morning and evening walks along the water as well as watching the kids just enjoy the day without being rushed to this or that.
I wanted to remember this time in our life by taking some amazing family pictures. I searched online galleries before we arrived. When I found Jessica’s site, I immediately called her. There was something about the way she captured the colors and sunsets that peaked my interest. She was amazing to work with. We had so many pictures to choose from it took me several days to choose.
This experience captured in pictures reminds me that life is about the simple things. Sometimes it is nice to let all the extra go and just focus on what is in front of you at the time.
