WPPI Photography Conference & Print Competition

Each year, Jessica McKnight sets aside much important time out of her busy schedule to make sure she is able to attend some of the world's best Photography Conferences. In this blog post we are highlighting the recent WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) Conference & Annual Print Competition held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As a photographer, the conference provides so many unique ways to expand on education and skillsets related to both the Art & Business of photography. 

This year's WPPI conference was held at the Mirage Resort & Casino. The 5-day long event starts with 2 days of live judging of the Annual Print Competition where photographers from all across the globe enter their work to be judged by world class judges within the industry.  The competition provides both an opportunity for artists to showcase their best work while also providing constructive criticism on areas of improvement. 

Following the live judging of the print competition, begins 3 days worth of Classes, Seminars, and hands on Photo Walks. These educational opportunities provide for expanding and sharpening of skills and techniques and range in topics covering lighting, posing, angles, editing, and much more. 

In addition to the educational opportunities available, the final 3 days of the conference also include an expo where the industry's best companies show up to showcase the latest in equipment, technology, software, prints & albums, and anything else related to the business of photography.  Also found within the showroom of the expo, is a gallery of all prints entered into the competition winning a Silver Award or Higher. These awards showcase artists exceeding above standard practice.
